In which colours are the foils available?
The films are transparent and therefore suitable for all colours.
Are the films self-adhesive or can they be removed like a display film?
The films have a relatively strong adhesive, like a classic sticker. However, they can be removed without leaving any adhesive residue.
How can I apply the films without leaving bubbles?
Each delivery includes a plastic squeegee and a special contact liquid. With this, the film can be easily aligned and applied without bubbles. Detailed instructions with a link to the installation instructions on YouTube are also included.
Do the films have to be stuck "around the corner"?
No. The films are only large enough to cover the flat surface of the shelf. They are even a little smaller so that you have some tolerance when sticking them on.
How thick are the foils?
The foils are about as thick as photo cardboard or a postcard. They are not noticeably bulky, but they are thick enough to withstand heavier loads.
What are the dimensions?
The USM shelves are divided into a certain grid. For example 75x35cm. These are the measurements from centre to centre of the spheres. The foils are of course cut so precisely that they fit the shelves exactly. A foil that says "for 75x35" actually has a measurement of 728x328mm so it fits exactly.
Doesn't the protective film devalue the beautiful shelf?
No, not at all. The film is barely visible and transparent. And it prevents the surface from being scratched considerably. As a result, the shelves still look beautiful even after heavy use.
Can I also remove the film again?
Yes, the films can be removed or replaced without leaving any residue.
Can I test the films and return them (keyword 'right of withdrawal')?
Yes, because with every delivery you will receive a small sample film that you can use for testing. This means that all original films can be returned intact. But honestly: we've had that happen exactly once since 2012.
